The mystery of the Holy Shroud of Turin

An enigmatic story that has played a decisive role in the representation of Jesus

15 years of research into the Holy Shroud of Turin culminate in a hyperrealistic recreation of the Man in the Shroud.
The Holy Shroud is a relic, believed to have been used to wrap the body of Jesus Christ after his death. For years, it has been challenging scientists and theologians to explain its mysteries—such as how the image of a man’s face could have been created on its cloth without the use of pigments.

This is the reason numerous scientific studies have been conducted for decades, in order to analyse different aspects of the Holy Shroud, such as the fabric, possible organic remains on it, radiation signs, etc. The results of these studies made it possible to create a sculpture that brings the Man in the Holy Shroud back to life.

Salamanca Cathedral

An unprecedented immersive experience in one of the largest cathedrals in Europe

Much like the Mystery Man exhibition itself, Salamanca Cathedral is the ideal conduit for a journey through the history of art and Christianity. This makes the Cathedral the perfect venue for the premiere, before the exhibition goes on its tour of the five continents.

Both the Old and the New Cathedral display a combination of Romanesque and Gothic features, which attest to the importance this place has held for centuries.
